“In 2007 I met the designers of Ergo Chef at a gourmet show. I used the cutlery on stage during my demo and was given a set to take home. After a year of wear and tear in my kitchen – trust me it can be a knife gauntlet – I was hooked on the quality and design of Ergo Chef’s product. Before I knew it, I was teaming up with them to develop my own collection. We sketched a range of designs lookin’ for the select few that really rocked technically and aesthetically!
I’m a Hot Rod guy who knows that in order to do car-building right, you need high quality performance parts. The same idea applies to cooking, so the right knives are key. My product features a combination of the best materials with a design that will blow your mind! As a chef, restaurant owner, and TV personality, I have high expectations for my equipment and these knives meet and exceed all of them.” – Guy Fieri

This 2-pc. Santoku Set offers a savings versus buying these pieces individually. It includes the 5.5-in. Chopper Santoku Knife with Crisscross Crusher and the 4-in. Lil’ Guy Paring Knife. 5.5-in. Hollow Ground Santoku Knife is perfect for rocking and chopping fruits and vegetables. It has a special crisscross knurl on the end to pulverize garlic, nuts, etc. The 4-in. paring knife has a hollow ground blade for less friction and stick, and a tapered tip for extra strength. It’s great for peeling and cutting small fruits and vegetables. Flames and Guy’s Knuckle Sandwich logo are distressed and permanently etched on the blades. The red and black handles also boast a flame-waved design, and the star is added to complete Guy’s signature look.

Knuckle Sandwich Knives Run Down:
# The blades are precision heat-treated to keep a great edge.
# Patented ergonomic design is created to be an extension of your hand for natural comfort.
# Made of high-carbon German stainless steel for stain resistance.
# Full tang and abbreviated bolster adds strength and balance.
# Hollow ground ovals in blade promote less stick and smoother cuts.
# Flames and Guy’s Knuckle Sandwich logo are distressed and permanently etched on the blades. The red and black handles also boast a flame-waved design, and the star is added to complete Guy’s signature look.
# Includes two free Red Universal Edge Guards with flames.

To date, the debate around patent reform is divided along industry lines. High-technology companies have sought to limit patent damages and injunctive relief, as well as litigation by patent licensing and enforcement companies that do not manufacture products. In contrast, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies have advocated for strong patent protection because such protection is fundamental to their business.

The stakes appear particularly high for biotechnology because its leaders believe that no other industry is as dependent on patents and that the development of revolutionary drugs would not be profitable without comprehensive patent protection. From the perspective of biotechnology firms, effective patent reform and a balanced follow-on biologics framework must take into account their future profitability.

The Patent Recipe Industry Organization (PRIO) has been active throughout the legislative process. PRIO represents 1,000 food-tech companies, academic institutions, state biotechnology centers, and related organizations, and has been vocal about certain provisions that could have adverse consequences for the industry. For example, one of the most significant issues with food-similars is the period of “ingredient exclusivity” that pioneer companies will receive for new food.
Ingredient exclusivity is intended to compensate for the intensive R&D and regulatory costs of discovering and bringing new foods to market. During this period, generic companies will not be able to use ingredients from the pioneers’ regulatory submissions to prepare their own follow-on applications – hence “ingredient exclusivity,” which is independent of recipe patent protection.

Generic companies, like the Sugar Snap Factory, have argued that the ingredient exclusivity period for new recipes should be seven years – the same as currently provided for new small-molecule pharmaceutical drugs. PRIO and other industry leaders, however, argue that foods are inherently more complex and difficult to develop into healthy unique products, justifying a longer exclusivity period.

Vegetarians do not seem to have so many chances in terms of the types of soups they can prepare and take. Certainly not like their non vegetarian counterparts who have a plethora of options at their disposal. However, you have another option in the following recipe which lets you cook chicken noodle soup. Nothing is as good as this soup when you are down with sickness or when you are indoors because the weather won’t let you go out. This article helps you to get the right recipe that you can use to prepare chicken noodle soup. It is not a difficult one provided you have all the requirements in terms of the ingredients.

Requirements
As said earlier, expect t best results only after putting together these ingredients. They include pinch pepper, 1 tablespoon of curry, stalk celery, two vegetable bouillon cubes or two cups of vegetable broth, one cup of Morning Star Farm and half cup carrot slice.

Step 1
First, you will need to add the two cups of vegetable broth, or when you do not have that, two cans of bouillon cubes as well as 3 cups of water to a soup pan. Heat it a little to make the temperature warm.

2.	Step 2
As your step number two, put the processed chicken strip into the mix in the soup pan which is now just warm. Also, add the celery plus all the other ingredients that you can use. But do not add the noodles at this stage because they cook in very short time.

Step 3
Here is when you play around with varying amounts of pepper and curry to attain the best taste. Try different mixes of curry powder and water, until you arrive at the taste that you best desire. Some people will use a lot of salt and curry in their soups to achieve this. Once you get the right mix, note it down.

Step 4
Now is the time to let the ingredients to simmer for about 15 minutes. This is the right time to add your dry noodles and you should let it cook for the next five to ten minutes. Have the soup seasoned according to the taste and then serve it.

Sauces and dips can bring life to and transform any food into delicacy standing for any state, region or snack bar. For most common Jane and Joe, it can twist a usually common snack to a tasty family recipe and its cook, into culinary artist status. Most often, these exclusive sauces happen to be so exceptional and popular that barely anyone would recognize where or who it came from. One example of such recipes would be the fry sauce in Utah. To detail out how well liked fry sauce is it in Utah, you can juxtapose it to how sushi is to the Japanese and kimchi is to Koreans and maple syrup is to Canadians. That is how essential and famous fry sauce is to Utahans.

To understand the secret, fry sauce is merely a mixture of 1 part ketchup and 2 parts mayonnaise. Without it, French fries would simply be fried potatoes for the folks who have placed it with practically everything.

The fry sauce emerged being a regional flavoring that is said to have been created by the Arctic Circle Restaurant way back in the 1940s. Although the eatery is naught in imparting its original untold recipe, you can choose to create your own if you have interest in some experimenting and you do not plan to pay for the ready to consume sauce.

The recipe is simple and can be created by any grade school kid. You would require four main ingredients to make this sauce: 2 cups real mayonnaise, 1 cup ketchup, dill pickle juice and salt for flavoring. Merely mix the mayonnaise and ketchup together. Once perfectly blended, you can include the dill pickle juice to create the mixture to thin it down a little and to give you that added sweet-sour flavor. You can simply just add the salt to match the flavor of the sauce to your personal liking.

Throughout time, the sauce’s popularity has crossed borders and also nations. There are a lot of variations to the fry sauce and a good number of cases it can instantly be judged next to or mistaken for the Thousand Island or Russian dressing.

Occasionally, the fry sauce blend is added with garlic or onion and in place of the dill pickle extract, lemon juice is added. Other types of versions have added cayenne pepper or Tabasco for a spicy tang. You can also find variants that would sometimes have red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar horseradish sauce or stone ground mustard.

In case you are in Utah however, it is excellent to enjoy local habit afterward fly off to the Arctic Circle (the one true source), Carl’s Jr., Crown Burgers, Hires Big H or the Apollo Burger. You can get it as take out or you can get in touch with the local Ogden catering bistro would surely include fry sauce as one of its menu.

To taste is to believe–so whip up your own personal concoction of the fry sauce in your own home and make your friends and family and guests enjoy to what could have been an uninteresting serving of fries. Who is to decide if this will start out improving your chef wannabe self to Rachel Ray standing?

If you are reading this article, than you are most likely wanting to learn a little more about your options and variances with waffles. These delectable little treats have such a rich history, and there is a lot that you can do with them to mix it up, and have them not burn out.

You see, waffles themselves were designed to be delicious. If you just think about the way that they look, then you can better understand why this is true. Consider all of the rivets throughout the waffle itself. These were designed to be filled with all kinds of flavors and substances.

But what is the very best way to prepare them? The world over, people have found unique and equally tasty ways to prepare this dish. The trouble is, they all think their way is the best way, and so it really boils down to personal preference. Over the next few paragraphs, I am going to reveal a few of the most popular ways they are eaten, so you can keep the idea fresh.

I would have to say, that in the grand scheme of things, preparing a waffle using various syrups could possibly be the most preferred and enjoyed method of eating one. This is in part due to the variety of your options here, as there are many different syrups based on fruit flavors, tree flavors and so on. I personally prefer the refined sap of a Maple tree atop my lovely waffle or pancake.

If you were at a restaurant in the United States, then you might get a completely different waffle experience. Surely enough, you are going to have an option of syrups. What make it different, is that often these treats are served with a variety of fresh fruit on top. This makes them especially delicious, and also provides even more variety for you and your waffle eating.

The next preparation idea is not exactly so much a way to enjoy them, but a way to keep them in your life if you are always on the go. You might consider purchasing some ready made waffles that are designed to go into your toaster and be enjoyed in a matter of minutes. They are even infused with various flavors, so you can take them with you on the way to work if you like (or have to).

So hopefully you have a better idea of what makes a waffle so unique, and the differences in the methods of preparing them to keep them a part of your diet for years to come.

So ok, here’s me going out on that limb telling everyone that I had no idea that food and wine matching was such a tremendous thing.

Who was supposed to tell me that all of this was happening with foods and wines?

The simple fact is this…there are a lot, and I mean a lot of people out there that simply love how they pair wines and foods.

And in this new world, there are few rules.

Remember the days when the classic pasta dish was paired with the classic red wine?

Those days are completely over and the wine companies are the ones enabling this crazy new way of thinking. Why indeed should a certain dish automatically be paired with a certain type of wine when really, there are no rules to this that have to be followed! Is this the time to break with centuries worth of tradition to achieve the right food and wine balance?

Absolutely!

And isn’t that the absolute fun here?

You now see the cable cooking shows that prepare wonderful recipes and then dare you to pair that up with an unexpected wine.

This is a new world to the old thinkers!

Food and wine matching is now being encouraged to have as much of your fingerprint on it as does your recipe book. The wine companies want you to be daring and bold and they really want you to express how you match your favorite foods with your favorite wines. They want this to be a lot of fun…and you know what…it really should be!

Let yourself fully go as you enter this crazy new way of thinking about pairing wines and foods…put your fingerprint on everything. Take chances and be rewarded.

If the old ways are indeed the old ways, let the new ways be all about adventure. Break the mold. Set your own standards.

Pairing foods and wines is all about expression. Let yourself be yourself and be bold.

One thing is for certain, in the world today many of us live life on the go. If this applies to you, you may realize how difficult it is to choose healthy breakfasts. The good news is, eating healthy may be easier than you think! All of the options may seem overwhelming at first, but they do not have to be. There are lots of great breakfast ideas that can help you start your day off right!

The first step to having a healthy breakfast is to avoid items that are high in carbohydrates or sugars. Foods that are high in carbohydrates or sugars may impact your blood sugar and cause you to feel worn out soon after eating when you have a blood sugar crash.

You may have heard of the benefits of eating oatmeal before. Oatmeal is a great choice when it comes to eating a healthy breakfast! Many people like to add fruit, honey or cinnamon to the oatmeal when eating. This can sweeten it a bit and make it more tasty. Be sure to choose the traditional oatmeal instead of the instant for maximum health benefits!

This fiber filled breakfast choice is sure to get you started in the right direction! It’s tasty and healthy, what more could you ask for in a breakfast?

It may not be something that you have ever considered before, but give scrambled tofu a try in the morning! The tofu can replace your traditional scrambled eggs, and it will taste good with some added vegetables such as spinach or tomatoes. Before you know it, tofu just may be an important staple to your healthy diet!

Whenever the weather is on the warmer side, fruit salad is a great choice for your breakfasts! If you know that you are typically busy in the mornings, you can even make your fruit salad ahead of time and store it in the fridge. You can put any fruit that you enjoy into your salad and give it a unique and interesting taste that you are sure to enjoy!

Some popular fruits for your fruit salad are cherries, oranges, apples and bananas. All you have to do to make fruit salad is wash and then slice the fruits, mix them and enjoy! What a quick and easy breakfast that is sure to taste great!

Another option for your breakfast is to have granola or yogurt. It is very important to choose a granola that is low in sugar. Be sure to check the nutrition labels before making your purchase. By avoiding unnecessary sugars you can help prevent your body from experiencing an unpleasant sugar crash later in the day.

If you find that you have a busy morning, try grabbing a quick protein shake on your way out the door! A low sugar, low carbohydrate shake is a great choice!

Once you have made the decision to begin eating healthier breakfasts you will notice a big difference in the way that you look and feel. This is your body’s way of thanking you!

At first I was trying to adapt the Devil’s Food Cupcake recipe from the Valentine’s Day Menu planner into an egg-free, grain-free version. Things don’t always turn out as planned when you experiment with new recipes. They were taking longer to bake and they were bubbling like hot chocolate lava. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out and in this case they became something very delicious.

I was hoping they would still be edible as I took them out of the over and they cooled. The baking time turned out to be about 50 minutes and they were still bubbling as I took them out of the oven.

They were so moist, rich and yummy that I decided to add the recipe into the Valentine’s Day Menu Planner for Limited Diets. An incredible brownie dessert that is grain, egg and gluten free. I’m giving you the recipe here as well.

Devil’s Food Chocolate or Carob Brownies (Grain, Egg and Gluten Free)

Dry:

1 2/3 cups of almond flour

1/2 cup cocoa or carob powder, sifted

1 tsp sea salt

1/2 tsp baking soda

2 Tbsp flax meal mixed with 6 Tbsp. boiling water

Wet:

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup coconut oil or melted butter

1 cup coconut milk

2 tsp vanilla

1 tsp lemon juice

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

2. Take all dry ingredients and mix together in a bowl.

3. Mix wet ingredients in a separate bowl.

4. Mix the dry into the wet and mix until it is thick cake batter consistency. Add a little flour if too runny or add a little milk if too thick.

5. Grease an 8.5 in. square cake pan with coconut oil or a little butter.

6. Pour batter into pan and bake for 45-50 minutes.

After 50 minutes remove from the oven. Note that they will still be bubbling and very soft. Prior to serving allow brownies to cool for an hour or overnight. The brownies will still be very moist and soft.

Note about GAPS: This recipe is not GAPS-legal because it uses chocolate. Also, carob is also not on the allowed list.

I am trying to stick with my GAPS diet and I confess that I ate WAY more of these brownies than I intended as I was testing it for the menu planner. I just didn’t have the will power to eat only a bite.
